Following 25 years of continuous service, in March one of our colleagues and friends left Barnes of Lincoln to embark on a new adventure – retirement.
Mary had been with the company since 1988, and brought with her the years of experience she’d gained while employed in The Treasurers Department of Lindsey County Council.
Not only did she bring her infinite capacity for calm in the face of a crisis, she also brought the expertise needed to organise the computerisation and running of our sales account systems when they were set up in May 2001.
To celebrate her time working with us and to wish her all the best, a group of 18 friends, relatives and colleagues met at Harbour Lights Restaurant, Burton Waters, where presentations were received and many a fond recollection of Mary’s career was shared.
Following a cruise around the Norwegian Fjords with Paul, her husband of 40 years (who is also due to retire later this year), Mary hopes to spend her free time enjoying her passions for embroidery, market gardening in her allotment and spoiling her grandchildren!
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mary for all her hard work over the years that she’s been with us, and wish her a very lengthy and happy retirement!
