We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1904 when Grocer George Barnes carried out the occasional furniture removals with his fruit and veg cart. As time moved on, so did our business, and it continued to grow - bringing with it experience and industry know-how as we continued with our drive to be the most reliable removals company around.

Passing through World War II and into the second half of the century, Barnes of Lincoln was still experiencing major growth, and this resulted in us taking over two of our competitors, giving us a fleet of 17 vehicles.

In 1993, we successfully acquired new premises in North Hykeham with a 40,000sq feet storage facility; this only improved our services and capabilities as a removals and storage company. And in 1999, to celebrate 80 years of service and fantastic results, we have constructed a new 500 container warehouse.
